This score explores theme through a mixture of genre and instrumentation. The lead character Ottoline is represented by a hip hop progression that represents the intensity that she feels through her line of work. And, when the environment changes to inside the club we thematically submerge ourselves into a jazz combo which best represents the environment we find ourselves in. Within this club, we are introduced to characters that are grounded in this environment and when they appear on screen the jazz combo underneath features the instrument most representative of that character. This representation is felt more than it is heard and creates the subtleties that provide the audience with the emotional information happening beneath the scene.
