About the Music
This score explores theme from a classical perspective. The instrumentation is orchestral and theme derives from the melodies written for the characters and environment. The score explores thematic progression through melodic variation in which established melodies that represent characters and environments have an effect on each other throughout the film. The most obvious example of this is seen in the theme written for the lead character Charlie from its first establishment in the track New Place To Stay to its development in the track No Reflection, which inherently has a darker more sinister quality to it. This thematic approach created a story in which the characters and environments seemingly had an effect on each other, both emotionally and physically.
